HAARP

HAARP OR High Frequency Active Auroral Research Program is located in Alaska. Publicly HAARP states that they are simply a program with the intentions ofchanging the ionosphere in a way that would improve communications for our own good. They propose to do this by "zapping" the upper atmosphere with a focused electromagnetic beam. This beam is basically the opposite of a radio telescope, by sending out signals instead of repeating them. However, certain individuals have found US military documents that state that HAARP plans to learn how to "exploit the ionosphere for Department of Defense purposes"

Much further research is required to come to a firm standpoint on HAARP's true intentions, but I personally believe that it is more that possible for the US military to research and at least attempt to exploit any possible way to gain the upper hand over competing countries
