I don't have to write phenomenologically anymore? Sweet. Let's blow this nonsense out of the water.

Here's a passage (unedited) from a so-called exposition of the HAARP's supposed ability to control your brain.

To know how HAARP mind control works, we need to know the concept of Ionosphere, how it resonates our brain and how altering it could alter the brain waves. Ionosphere being 0.1% ion plasma layer in the earth’s atmosphere, extending from 50kms to 1500kms above the ground, acts as a natural protection from sun’s ultra violet radiation. The ionosphere has naturally produced extremely low frequency waved responsible for Earth’s Natural Brain Rhythm. As the brain also works using these ELF waves, the ionosphere is responsible for all living beings and their brain’s to resonate with Earth’s Natural Brain Rhythm.

Now that passage was not composed entirely of baloney. The ionosphere is real, and does occupy that area of the atmosphere. It aids in radio communication. It does not actually block UV radiation, the writer has confused it with the stratosphere.

However, I Googled "Earth's Natural Brain Rhythm" and the only results featuring that entire phrase were more conspiracy theories (see for yourself). None of which actually explained what it was. Now I find that suspicious. What is this "natural brain rhythm" of Earth's? Maybe if I read on it will tell me.

It goes on to say that the brain transmits 8Hz waves to think. Oh really? Then, in the same paragraph, we are informed that one person's brain waves can "tune" another's.

Whoa, whoa, hold everything. Not only are you asking me to believe that a research station can be used as a weapon of mass destruction, you also expect me to believe in psychics? Skepticism at 11 and holding, captain.

But let's continue anyway. Here's a scientific and well-written passage:

Our brains are vulnerable to any device that emits ELF waves, as they would immediately resonate themselves to the induced frequency, something similar to the concept of a tuning folk. A brain if induced to a frequency at 7.83 Hz or even 8 Hz would reflect an emotion of happiness. On the other hand, high frequency like 10 Hz would result in hypnosis and 10.80 Hz would induce riotous behavior. Similarly, if the brain is tuned to lower ELF waves of 6.60 Hz, it would induce sadness and depression in a person.

Well, that sounds more reasonable, except not. Lo and behold, legitimate research doesn't back up what the conspiracy theorists are saying.
