Nostradamus and 2012

(x)
This badly-written article on the 2012 wiki (which is a thing that EXISTS, apparently.) is about Nostradamus' predictions of 2012. From what I could pick out from the wall of text, there was a book discovered at the National Library in Rome and there is "evidence" that it was the last work of Nostradamus, and this article is advertising a special on it that will be airing on the History channel. The depressing downfall of the History channel aside, the article states that "The predictions of Nostradamus were in agreement with the scientist of today that the solar system will pass through the galactic plane of the Milky Way galaxy, as the earth enters its 25,800 year precession. When this happens, the gravitational wave, which exist as a flat plane along the equatorial region of the milky way sends this across any passing solar system, including Earth and the Sun, causing earthquakes in both Sun and all the planets. In this region there are broken planets and asteroids that may cause near massive object collision with earth, but also as the solar system passes the equatorial region will the planets, including earth shifts its rotation. According to Nostradamus, when this passes, whole continents will be under water in a matter of 6-10 hours, where most of Asia will be underwater, but also other coastal regions. The land will sink fast and responsible for most of the destruction, but during this passing the earth will lose its orbit around the sun, massive earthquakes starts from the polar shifts and gravitational waves bringing on earthquake and sinking of continents. The spokes of wheel disappears in one of Nostradamus drawings which signifies that earth will no longer be in orbit or following cycles, and hence the disappearance of spokes. The sinking of land will also experience land underwater coming out at the same time, and will take matter of hours for a land to sink 2000 feet under the ocean much like Atlantis, which was about 2200 feet, located off the coast of Cuba."
I really hope you were able to understand what the author was trying to say, because to me I just could not understand a word.

Everybody, PANIC!

We've reached the beginning of the end! It's evident that the apocalypse of 2012 is upon us! "Earth's magnetic field is about to be shaken like a snow globe by the largest solar storm in five years."-Seth Borenstien

So with solar flares sending solar storm particles rushing through space at us at speeds in the billions of miles per hour, we are starting to realize our demise is upon us. These storms are part of the suns 11-year cycle, however this cycle is said to be the stormiest and most intense of any before this. Why is this? I do not know, but the Mayan's must have. This is only the beginning of our problems, folks! Though the particles sent out by the sun, growing larger as they fly through space, may be a large issue in terms of physical impact, there are worse issues for our modern world. During the last set of solar storms in 2002, GPS systems were down, with newer technologies it is predicted that more technological systems will fail--it is not known which ones yet. A NOAA scientist, Joe Kunches, has confirmed that this spot on the sun could send more particles our way. Could this mean total technological collapse? Will the fear of Y2K re-appear with the threat of these solar storms? I think that as the year progresses and these particle disturbances become more frequent and intense we will be sent into a world-wide technological collapse creating complete chaos. This will lead to system failures, riots, and eventually the storms will be so intense the Earth will explode!!
No, maybe not that. But scientists are nervous about this episode, expecting more to come. NASA's solar physicist calls this storm "...particularly nasty" and seems to think it is an irregular pattern. The same scientists say that there are only three ways to disrupt our technology: magnetic, radio, and radiation emissions. The scientists are worried however because all three disruptions will be present in this blast, as well as in the storms to follow, and that their effects will be strong. So stock up on food and candles everyone because power grids, GPS, radiation, communication systems, and satellites will all be effected or knocked out entirely. Yikes!
You may be have wondered earlier on, if this is an 11-year cycle and and the last surge was in 2002, then shouldn't we not be worried until 2013? Maybe not, but this is only the build-up to something way worse. And with this years solar storms being more intense than ever, as they build up, they could become so bad that the world may end before the worst of the storms (December 21, 2012--to be exact). Technological collapse? Likely. World-wide disaster? Hopefully not. But plan for the worst my friends, for the worst is surely ahead!

The End of the Universe: chilling, ripping, crunching, bouncing or snapping?

Greg Laughlin, a leading scientist of the doomsday, the real doomsday, as predicted by physics and not apocalyptic New Agers, suggests we should begin packing our bags to leave for Mars, in, say, about a billion years, after we survive a number of ice ages and at least 10 meteors of the End Cretaceous Extinction Event size (the one that did-in the dinosaurs). This would be necessary, since our sun would be 10% more energetic, and “the oceans will boil away and the atmosphere will dry out as water vapor leaks into space, and temperatures will soar past 700 degrees Fahrenheit, all of which will transform our planet into a Venusian hell-scape choked with thick clouds of sulfur and carbon dioxide.” Pleasant, eh? But, by that time, Mars will be a balmy place just waiting for our inhabitation, particularly if a few adventuresome of us arrive there ahead of time, and get the atmosphere jump-started with a heady mix of perfluorocarbons and other greenhouse gases. After the sun gets too hot and big as a Red Giant and fries Mars after another 4.5 billion years, we can head on over to Jupiter’s moon Europa, and then to Saturn’s moon Titan for the next 130 million years, just enough time to get the matter-antimatter-annihilation powered spaceship ready for the voyage to Proxima Centauri.
‘Cause that’s the likely place we’d be headed. It’s a red dwarf star, only 4.2 light years away from us, and more stable than our sun. If not Proxima Centauri, then some other red dwarf, because they’re the most common stars, and have been found to have probable inhabitable planets. We can live for trillions of years near these red dwarf stars. Alas, the red dwarfs will die out, and then we can start using the energy from brown dwarfs, possibly by creating our own stars. For another 10 billion billion years.
Sadly, the last days of humanity in this universe will come at that point. It could be that the anti-gravity of dark energy will push all remaining resources too far away for humans to see or reach –  the Big Chill. Then there’s the Big Rip, where dark energy really gets going and starts yanking the contents of the universe to pieces, all the way down to ripping atoms apart. But, some enterprising humans might have found a wormhole to another universe to escape through. Anything’s possible.

NASA Denies Doomsday

In an article I came across while googling the 2012 doomsday to fill my mind with further conspiracies that I could use as excuses to spend my year in the most reckless way possible. To my dismay, the most credible and factual article I found told me that doomsday will not exist anytime in our near future.
The article is an interview with NASA scientists that goes through asking questions related to the Mayan calendar's ending and the existence/threat of Planet X or Nibiru as well as many other theories on doomsday including meteor hits, solar storms, polar shift and more. The answer scientists have is, "Where is the science?" They can't find it, and no one else seems to be able to either. Similar to the build up of Y2K at the beginning of this millennium, the 2012 apocalypse has become an obsession and a distraction for people through the media and popular culture. Why worry about the legitimate problems at hand when the end of the world could be coming?!
Also similar to our theory on the number 23, theories behind a 2012 apocalypse are everywhere, right at our fingertips. But if we look up reasons why there WON'T be a doomsday, theres at least double if not triple or quadruple amounts of information that is scientifically based and thoroughly researched, some from extremely credible sources such as NASA which prove these theories to be terribly wrong.
Point is, the world is not coming to an end, go back to your boring daily lives everyone.

The Age of Aquarius

OK, so, this is actually kind of worrying to me.  At this point in time, we are getting to find more and more astronomical and astrological coincidences on the notorious date of 12/21/2012.  This December, we are either screwed or in for one heck of a ride as far as I'm concerned and I don't know whether to be excited or extremely worried.  What brings all this to my attention?  This article right here.  It goes through a few of the coincidences that fall on the date.
1. We're in for the Age of Aquarius beginning on the day of the winter solstice, aka the 21 of December.  This means that we're likely going to be seeing (according to astrology, maybe it's accurate, maybe it's not) more modernist, revolutionary, and humanitarian people according to the description of the Auarius sign.
2. The Mayan calender ends.  This does not imply the end of the world, though, because the Mayan calender is a circle and therefore is a cycle that goes on forever.  It implies a major change, but we will be starting at one again.
3. The year of the Water Dragon begins shortly thereafter.  I have no clue what this implies, but I feel like it's important.
4. The controversial apocalyptic book of Revelation coincides with the conditions set by the Age of Aquarius.  The book of Revelation presents a world situation of open-eyes where we care about the situation around us and want to do something about it.  This is an Aquarius trait, humanitarianism.
5. EVERYTHING ELSE.  If you look for coincidences, they will be there.  That's just kind of how it is.
So, yeah, be paranoid if you'd like.  Preparation is relative, just like everything else.

Mother Shipton

The Mother Shipton Prophecy is one of the more ridiculous (and, therefore, constantly utilized) theories supposedly outlining the 2012 apocalypse. The basic premise revolves a woman named Ursula Southeil (a.k.a Mother Shipton) and her famous, prophetic visions. Her prophecies were published in 1641 (80 years after her recorded death) and apparently adequately predicted the death of Henry VIII, the Great Fire of London, The advent of the printing press, The defeat of the Spanish Armada, and - to top it all off - World Wars I and II.

The verse in her prophecy that lead people to believe in a possible prediction of the 2012 apocalypse reads thusly:

When pictures seem alive with movements free
when boats like fishes swim beneath the sea
when men like birds shall scour the sky
then half the world
deep drenched in blood
shall die.

It is helpful to note that nowhere in the prophecy is there a specific reference to 2012. Conspiracy theorists make the case that while the 2012 apocalypse is not explicitly referenced, because all the other prophecies fit together so well, it's the only logical explanation. It would be fair to say that does not function as a particularly adequate rebuttal.

It is also entirely possible that Mother Shipton, great prophetess of the sixteenth century, might not have existed in the first place. Richard Head (that is, indeed, his real name), the man who composed her biography, admitted that he wove a narrative from some stories he'd heard and marketed them as The Life and Times of Mother Shipton.

So, uh, mystery solved.

The Mayan Calendar, Explained

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KjKUqQ2uSzg&feature=plcp&context=C331a118UDOEgsToPDskILmxdmAU3wmeSR1aybOsWc

That link up there is an excellent Youtube video made by a guy named Hank Green, who is awesome for many reasons, but - in the case of this class - because he understands the workings of the Mayan calendar.

So, as I'm sure has been re-iterated tirelessly on this blog, the idea behind the 2012 apocalypse dwells in the supposed end of the Mayan Calendar on December 21st, 2012.

But...the Mayan Calender doesn't end then.

Quick explanation: The Maya had a really good sense of time in the long term, and thus they made many, many calendars. The particular calendar put into question by the 2012 apocalypse theory is, roughly translated, called The Long Count Calendar. The Maya created this calendar specifically for the purpose of measuring really long periods of time and the dates on the calendar are denoted in a format created by the Maya, it looks like this:

One day - K'in
20 days - Winal
360 days - Tun
20 years - K'atun
144,000 days, or about 394.26 years - B'ak'tun

*Note: The Maya used this to mark the days from what they called "The Last Creation" into the indefinite future. The Maya believed that they lived in the fourth "Creation" and marked time from the beginning of said creation - which has been calculated to August 11th, 3,114 B.C.

So, the Maya mark time like this:

# of B'ak'tun. # of K'atun. # of Tun. # of Winal. # of K'in.

So, here is what July 4th, 1776 looks like: 12.8.0.1.13

Now, December 21st, 2012 looks like this: 13.0.0.0.0

That is, legitimately, the only special thing about December 21st, 2012. It's the first day of a new B'ak'tun. The last time that the calendar clicked over to a new B'ak'tun was September 18th, 1618 - a day known for being notoriously uninteresting and certainly not apocalyptic.

To be fair, the Maya did predict that "The Last Creation" would last for 13 B'ak'tun, but nowhere in Maya lore does that indicate there will be acid-rain, plagues of frogs or murders of firstborn sons.

So, it looks as though there aren't going to be any imminent threats.

Vengeful God is Vengeful?

Hey, so check it out. There are a simply enormous number of theories about how our lovely little blue planet is going to end in about ten months; some say we'll be struck down by an Old-Testament God, some say Jupiter will be impacted by a giant invisible super-planet hiding behind the sun (Nibiru), some say the economy will just... collapse. However people say things will end, the general consensus is that the Mayan Calendar (along with other predictive entities like the I Ching and Nostradamus) predicted an end or a radical change.

This article suggests something novel- that God's period of allowing man to rule himself will come to an end in 2012 (and the Seven Trumpets of the Seventh Seal will be blown). The first four trumpets will destroy the United States (the first of which signifies COMPLETE ECONOMIC COLLAPSE and has already been blown), the fifth will plunge the world into WWIII, and the article fails to specify the exact effect of the final two (I assume it is something approximating "bad"). WWIII will destroy the world and end the reign of man, returning Earth to God's caring hands.

Or something. For starters, it looks like God just cares to specifically target the United States with four (out of seven) of his incredibly valuable trumpets; that's about 57% of the available trumpet-power being used to destroy one nation- leaving approximately 43% of the power for the rest of the world (14% of which is being used to start WWIII). That means that overall, the destruction of the world (news flash: the entire world does not consist solely of America and the not-yet America tumor shaped kind of like some "Canada" place on top of Chicago) has to be accomplished with 29% of the total available trumpet power- also, if 57% of the power is required to demolish a single country and its affiliates, then how is God going to deal with the European Union? Russia is twice the size of the US if it's a square mile, so that would require at least 114% of the total trumpet-power (going off what the US needed). The math just doesn't work out- also, the idea of God destroying us all for being sinful is kind of ridiculous- I mean, everyone knows that planet Nibiru is going to turn Jupiter into a Red Dwarf and we'll be pulled apart by a dual-sun system. I'm kidding.

2012; Does it really signify the end?

It has been established that the Mayan Calendar ends on December 21, 2012. the Dresden Codex, the most complete of four known Mayan Codeces suggests that on this date, the world will end in massive flooding. A History Channel special on the Mayan Calendar compares recent history with the Katun cycles associated with different parts of the Mayan Calendar. It also mentions the alignment of the sun with the center of the galaxy and the completion of one cycle of the Earth's axial wobble. The show does not take a specific view on whether or not the world will end on December 21, but the evidence presented throughout the show encourages the reader to believe that 2012 will be either a time of great change or the end of the world itself.
Video (this is only one of several in the series)
There are several problems with this video. First of all, it uses the same concept as the 23 enigma. All of the predictions are fairly vague and make it easy to find historical events which could correspond. For example: Katun 3 prophesizes homelessness, calamities, and war. However, all of these issues have existed constantly throughout history, so it is only a matter of finding a specific event during the particular time period that corresponds to the date of the Katun. Also, the video fails to explain how either solar alignment or axial wobble could possibly affect the earth on that day. For these reasons, I think it is safe to assume that this particular source does not fall within the realms of "good science."

Eschatological Logic

The Earth is 4.54 billion years old. Anything that old's probably going to stick around for a while longer, right?

Maybe not. You see, people have now been bleating for some time now that the world will end in 2012.
Whether by meteor, Niburu, epoch-ending Mayan calendar, or other means. Personally, I hope it's zombies. Zombies, I can deal with.

But, I hear you saying to your computer screen, aren't these people completely barmy?

The answer, quite simply, is YES. Utterly marble-deprived. Doesn't mean they're not right, though. Let's wait and see...

The End of the World

The idea of the "End" has been around since we first discovered time. We thought that nothing could possibly be infinite--human life ends, therefor the entire world as we know it must also come to an end. The discovery of the passage of time did not come without a price--with knowledge comes understanding. We first began to understand the idea of a "beginning" a very long time ago--we started wondering where it all started; when, where and how we were created. With this question comes another: when, where and how will we be destroyed? Nothing lasts forever.

There have been countless "end of the world" theories, from BCE to CE, we have always said that the world will end in the next ten years. Well, those ten years have passed, so it must be happening in this decade. When the world doesn't end, we simply predict the date again. In the past few years there has been an end of world prophecy nearly every month or so--but look! We're still here. For those who depend on sources such as the Bible and other (mostly fictitious) prophets, it is said that the world will end when we least expect it to--that man cannot predict the end of days, because that is a power that only God can hold. If this is true, then we can all be called sinners--those who will not ascend through the Rapture, should it come. If we take into consideration those who believe their theories, then we can disprove them easily on their own grounds--we can prove them wrong by bringing to light their own faults and mistakes.

To conclude, even if the world is going to end, we cannot predict it. We have tried hundreds of times, but it has never worked out. Whether you are determining this by prophets or by hard science, there is no logical way to determine the "end of days". We can only ask ourselves this: why do we want so badly for the world to end? Shouldn't we be exploring the world while we have it? It's an awfully pessimistic spiral that we've thrown ourselves into--perhaps it's about time we found our way out.

2012: An Archeologists Perspective

2012: An Archeologists Perspective

Over the years, the fascination with the Mayasend of the world” prediction on December 21, 2012, has taken hold in the mainstream media and spread like wildfire through pop-culture.  Predictions include a global environmental catastrophe, a massive planet called Niburu or Planet X colliding with earth, solar flairs, or a galactic alignment that would cause the Milky Ways black hole to wreak magnetic havoc on earth. The end of the world as we know it may be a romantic idea to capture the minds of imaginative people all over the world but unfortunately for them, (or fortunately) well-established archeologists and Mayan Scholars alike share a very different view of what may happen and its not nearly as exciting. A recent article in American Archeology Magazine explains exactly what’s all the hubbub behind the popular 2012 end of the world myth.
The Maya were unbelievable timekeepers. Their very society integrated time into every aspect of life. The Mayas Haab calendar so accurately predicted the solar year that is was only recently that we have devised a more accurate solar calendar and time division, and our method requires observing the resonance of a cesium atom whereas they used only the study of the stars and sun. So why not believe a prediction made by one the most advance ancient calendars in the world devised by society which revolved around the advance study of time?
First off, in the hundreds of discovered Mayan artifacts, there is only one written mention of the date 2012 and on top of that, the artifact is in such poor condition that it is disputed that there is even a mention of 2012 at all. “Even in damaged form, (what comes after the date) doesn’t appear to refer to 2012,” said Simon Martin, head curator at the Pennsylvania Museum of Archeology. Stephen Houston of Brown University also disputed over whether the date on the glyph is even referring to 2012 at all or a much earlier date that has been more notably catalogued. Houston concluded the script “would be a back reference to a much earlier event.” Other Maya scholars note that there is another reference to a much later date in an inscription at Palenque Mexico, which depicts the year 4772 A.D and this fact alone contradicts the notion that the Maya were predicting 2012 as a final, let alone cataclysmic event. The literal lack of information uncovered depicting the Mayas cataclysmic predictions leads me to conclude that, the 2012 doomsday idea that has spread through society is simply a romantic idea created to make tons money and give people something to talk about.

DMT and Ancient History

Of all the apocalyptic theories due to submerge by the end of the year, the theory of the prophetic I-Ching is my personal favorite. The I-Ching is one of China's old
est texts, translating to "the book of changes." Three coins were tossed in the air six times and the results recorded in a series of lines (as seen above). Each of the possible combinations of lines had a corresponding prophecy that almost always related to the question asked prior to the coin toss.

Just recently in the 90's a man by the name of Terence McKenna began to study the I-Ching and made astonishing discoveries within the results. McKenna made a pattern and equation out of the possible results of the coin toss. He turned his equation into a graph that portrayed a trend against time. This graph supposedly corresponded to some of the largest high and low points in world history (relating to the high and low points on the graph). The graph was said to have predicted and corresponded to such events as both world wars, the Black Death and even the fall of the Roman Empire.

Now of course this all has to result in a 2012 apocalypse. Of course it turns out that the pattern and graph cut off entirely on the exact date of December 21st, 2012--the same as that which the Mayan calendar is said to end. However, it is said that McKenna had no prior knowledge of a 2012 doomsday date and did not find out about the Mayan calendar for years after Timewave Zero was created.

This isn't all though. Terence McKenna "was primarily an expert on psychedelic substances," [1] and studied the effects of drugs as well as their use in cultural and religious sacraments. He particularly enjoys studying drugs and their link to and extraterrestrial world or communication. He writes often about his experiences with an Amazonian brew called "Yage" that was used to communicate with extraterrestrials. And more so than anything else he was "a heroic taker of and expert on that explosive beyond-LSD drug called DMT or dimethyltryptamine." [1] What this means, is that an avid drug taker and believer of telepathic communication with extraterrestrials has created one of the most believed notions behind a 2012 apocalypse. That's a little scary.

The world will end in 2012: Purple Monkey Dishwasher

The other day I was happily surfing the web and otherwise having a great time.  My mild mannered, mostly marvelous, meticulously mapped morning was brought to a bone shattering fall when I stumbled upon a website claiming proof that the world will end in 2012.  I quickly checked my calendar and to my horror it said that the year was 2012.  Now I was forced to make a decision, I could either panic or I could  decide to research the claims and see if they had any basis in fact.  After several hours of running around panicking I rapidly grew bored and decided to pass the time researching the claims of the website.
The website was made in 2006 and attempted to use math to prove that the world will end in 2012.  2012-2006 = 6.  Apparently 666 is the devil's number, which indicates that the world will end in 2012.  If I do the math now I get 2012-2012 = 0.  I GOT IT!!! THE WORLD WILL ONLY END IN 2012 WHEN IT IS 2006!!!!  That is a big relief, right now the world is not going to end in 2012, it will end in 2018, and I have proof, 2018-2012 = .......... 6.  Holy cow, incredible.  Wait, I am starting to see a pattern here, the world is always going to end in 6 years from now, which makes very little sense as the Devil's number is 666 and not just 6, but the math checks out.  The website then goes on to claim additionally that the Mayans predicted the world will end in 2012, I on the other hand just think they ran out of room.   Another argument was that their will be a war in 2006 and people will be drafted and an asteroid will it the sea, wuff dha.  I can tell you one thing, all of those things did happen in 2006,  but that takes backstage to the  most terrible of all..... The coming of the Anti-Christ.  Now if the Anti-Christ came to earth one of three options are possible.  He was born as an infant, which means he is going to need a lot more than 6 years to destroy the world, he is even looking pretty bad to meet the 2018 world ending deadline.  The next possibility was he came already grown up, which means we probably would have herd from him by now.  The last and most likely possibility is that he is in fact a purple cow.

I never saw a purple cow.
I never hope to see one.
But I can tell you anyhow
I'd rather see than be one.

If the Anti-Christ is a purple cow than I feel that no one has ever seen him.  The website actually does make one claim bases on actual science, by todays standards at least.  The website claims that the world will be destroyed by an alleged photon belt.  First off their is no scientific evidence what so ever for the existence of a Photon Belt. Secondly, if it did exist it would have to have the mass of a black hole, kind of hard to not notice a giant black hole coming towards your planet, eh their don't cha know?  All said and done I felt very confident that the world will survive natural causes to see the end of 2012, but their is still a lot of time fore us to f#&k up the planet before the new year.
Cheers and Happy Easter

The world will end in 2012

The world WILL end in 2012. Planet X (nibiru) and its six moons will return from its 3600 year orbit. It will totally disrupt our solar system man. It could even light Jupiter on fire turning it into a baby sun. Then Planet x will go between the earth and the sun. This will somehow cause everyone on earth to see both of the suns. This will happen by may 2011. Also a massive solar flare will happen in 2012 which will knock out power all over the world. Coincidentally the sun the earth and the milky way will align on the galactic equator on December 21st which will move our solar system below the milky way which will kill us all. (122) But hope is not lost if we put prayer back in our everyday lives this catastrophe will be averted and this will not happen. Jesus will save us all if we pray.

2012, the governments greatest cover up

So I read an article about the end of days, 2012. It astounded me how many people the government have fooled by assuring that nothing is wrong. This article shows an average Americans opinion on the truth about 2012, the government has hidden the truth in various ways. The first being that in the early 1980s they used new infrared technology that found 350,000 objects in the night sky. The government claims that they hadn't found a single planet, but how can that possibly be? They hadn't found anything in the depths of space? And even worse they found the planet that would one days end us all, planet Nibiru, a planet that orbits the sun every 3600 years. Every time it has come near our planet catastrophic events happen. The dinosaur extinction, the ice age, all of these were related to Nibiru. Ever since they found it the government has been tracking this planet, keeping information on it hidden from the public so we don't have widespread panic in our country. And those scholars mentioned in the article are part of this conspiracy, they're being payed by the government to keep there mouths shut about the truth. But soon my friends, the public will know the truth, but is it too late?

The Proof is in Notepad

The Video

The video I have posted above is a video providing evidence in support of the theory that the world will end in 2012. The video seems to indicate that the crystal skulls, an apparently important set of beings in the 2012 apocalypse, want us to "write about the world and give all of your knowledge and lock it up in a folder. Then one day that folder will be opened and that paper will be brought out." This, as best I could interpret it, indicates that the crystal skulls want us, the human race (to my understanding), to record all of our information about the world, and seal those writings in a folder. Someday, most likely sometime in 2012, the folder will be opened and the information will be taken out of the folder, which I assume to be the cause the end of the world.

The evidence they provide is in the form of a very short experiment. They instruct us to open Wordpad, a Windows text program, and set the font to Wingdings, a dingbat font that changes typed letters to symbols, and to type out "2012." Once the instructions are followed, the program will show the following image:
.
The image depicts an image of a piece of paper, an image of a closed folder, and image of an open folder, and a repeat of the first image of the piece of paper. The author of the video, a "Directorboy91" interpreted this information for us as the aforementioned plan to write all of our information on the world down, and to seal it into a folder for the crystal skulls.

The plan, as well as the proof of the plan is unclear on a few points, such as the exact purpose of writing down our information of the world, the place of the crystal skulls, why the crystal skulls are involved at all, and how this will cause the end of the world, but as the creator of the video seems so sincere in his(?) explanation, I must assume that it is true.

Bee Deaths Theory: 2012

The article is here: 2012 theories- Bee Theory

Bees have been dying mysteriously all over the world without a known cause.  It is a significant problem because bees are a large source of pollination for plants, including many food crops the human race relies on.  If the bees die, the crops will take a massive beating and cause a worldwide famine.  Wars could be started over the lack of food and international exports could grind to a halt.  If noted early enough, this problem could be avoided by genetic engineering in the food crops.

The bee theory is an apocalypse scenario that has recently attracted some attention.  Their deaths have recently been related to insecticides in crop seeds (source here) and it should be noted that action has been taken on the subject.  This article seems well-researched and accurate for the most part, however, due to the increasing awareness and exploration the “death toll” statistic is something I find to be incorrect.  Scientists are discovering what might have killed off the bees and working towards eradicating the threat to our agriculture, leaning toward a best-case scenario.  A predicted death toll of 5,000-1 billion seems over-the-top for the circumstances.  They also do not cite their source for their prediction, leading me to think that it may just be an estimate they created.
I also disagree with the idea of genetically manipulating the plants or the bees because it may cause a different, larger problem.  Genetically mutated bees could become pests and menaces very quickly, due to having resilient man-made genes and genetically modified crops could take over natural land.  The modified crops may even be bad for our health, we wouldn’t know.  The outcome of this could be bad or good, both sides being on complete opposite ends of a spectrum, and it would be risky to employ this.  The smarter idea would be to eradicate the threat, rather than fix the crops or bees.  It also may be an easier job.  This also comes with drawbacks, but in the case of a designer disease we could create a “self-destruct button” that will cause the disease to die after its work is done or maybe cause it spread a certain way.
Either way, this is an all-around viable theory to go off of.

2012: The End of Life as We Know It

Will life end in 2012? No. But all of our lives will change drastically.

According to this stone, carved by the ancient Mayans and pondered by philosophers and scholars for decades, the earth will not end on December 21st, 2012. Rather, a new cycle of life will begin, brought on by the winged serpent Quetzalcoatyl, a creature that is both human and god. Revered by the ancient Mayan civilization that knew him as Kukulkan, After being tricked by the evil god Texacatlipoca, Quetzalcoatyl traveled to Yukatan, where he became revered by the Mayans and called Kulkulkan. He then taught the ancients the necessary skills to build a great civilization, from mathematics and science to astronomy and agriculture, and taught the people to live in peace. Then, one day, he continued his travels, disappearing across the sea after vowing to return.

On December 21st, 2012, the Mayan calendar prophesied the return of this great half-god, not the end of the Earth. You may ask what will happen when we next see Quetzalcoatyl, but sadly, no one knows. The calendar is incomplete and uncertain as to what will happen, and speculations vary. Perhaps we will simply have to wait and see. Will he bring peace to the people once more? Will he teach us of technology we've only ever dreamed about? Or will he just start a new cycle of life, almost like leading us into a new year?
